MATURATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DECARBONIZATION FUND PROJECTS - 1.
Priorities I and II focus on enhancing energy autonomy in the islands through the utilization of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and storage systems. This includes the installation of photovoltaic systems in combination with batteries to meet end-user needs, as well as the development of RES stations with investment support. Additionally, support is provided for the installation of hybrid systems that combine different forms of RES, as well as the placement of autonomous energy storage systems for greater flexibility and security of supply.

MATURATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DECARBONIZATION FUND PROJECTS - 2.
Priorities I and II include the development of offshore wind farms and the interconnection of the islands with the mainland grid, as well as the construction of dams and multipurpose reservoirs to enhance energy and hydrological security. The implementation of underwater and terrestrial electrical interconnections in island clusters such as the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and the Northern Aegean is planned in successive phases. Actions also include infrastructure for supplying electricity to docked ships from land (“cold ironing”) and the development of a network of electric vehicle charging stations, to support the green transition in transport.

MATURATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MODERNIZATION FUND PROJECTS.
Actions include the replacement of urban buses with electric and hydrogen vehicles, the energy upgrade of public buildings and greenhouses using RES, as well as the improvement of energy efficiency in military facilities. The modernization of the electrical grid with smart infrastructure for the integration of RES is also foreseen.
