Description:
The contract involves executing specialized research and development works to create a system that uses artificial intelligence and advanced image analysis for assessing the authenticity of signatures and artworks, focusing on developing and validating image analysis methods, algorithms, and ensuring effective research outcomes.
Subcontracting within R&D work

The subject of the contract is the execution of specialized research and development works supporting the development of a system for assisting the assessment of the authenticity of signatures and works of art using artificial intelligence and advanced image analysis, in the project titled "Development of an innovative system to support the evaluation of the authenticity of signatures and works of art using artificial intelligence and advanced image analysis."

The planned system will be used to support expert assessment of the compliance of signatures and selected fragments of works of art with the reference materials of the authors. The solution will utilize image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning methods to identify diagnostic features, compare signatures, analyze local properties of the artwork, and determine the level of compliance with the reference profile. The system will take into account the quality of input material, reliability of reference data, natural variability of author features, and uncertainty of results. The outcomes will be presented in the form of scoring and an analytical report, enabling identification of significant similarities, discrepancies, and cases requiring further expert evaluation.

The scope of subcontracting has a scientific research character and includes the development and validation of 2D image analysis methods, studies on the quality and standardization of reference data, development of specialized methods for extracting geometric, topological, textural, and embedding features, research on similarity and scoring models, as well as experiments on the robustness of algorithms to imaging disturbances and the justification for using spatial or quasi-spatial information. The scope also includes the development of experimental algorithmic components, models, scripts, validation procedures, statistical analyses, and documentation enabling reproduction of the conducted research.

Development of the target system architecture, organization and provision of reference material, maintenance of server infrastructure and data repositories, qualification of materials in substantive terms, integration of results of individual works into a technology demonstrator, preparation of a demonstration panel, and organization of expert validation and pilot testing remain the responsibility of the Contracting Authority. The Contracting Authority provides access to necessary research materials, reference data, technical environment, and assessments by art market experts, while ensuring the required rights for their use.

The subject of the contract is not the development of a commercial production application, routine software creation, purchase of server infrastructure, building a full 3D scanning system, acquisition of art collections, or issuing expert opinions confirming the authenticity of works. The contractor will not independently decide on the authenticity of signatures or objects. Their task will be to develop specialized research and algorithmic methods and verify their effectiveness within the scope defined by the Contracting Authority.
