Canada is seeking bids to provide an updated assessment of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure needs at the national level, which takes into account the announced evolution of policy/regulation (transition from Canada’s electric vehicle availability standard to greenhouse gas emission standards), developments in the ZEV market (sales, production/availability of ZEVs and EV charging infrastructure), technology, behavioral changes and trends, usage, as well as other policy changes related to ZEVs, including the availability of incentives or changes in requirements. This study must cover the charging infrastructure for ZEVs for light-duty and medium/heavy-duty vehicles at a regional level across Canada. The study will also update the grid readiness and investment needs, and consider regional requirements and sensitivity to extreme temperatures at Natural Resources Canada.
