Description:
The Council seeks a qualified UK service provider to research how nature-based solutions can enhance the financial viability of low carbon energy projects and improve understanding of their potential benefits.
The Council is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced UK-based service provider to undertake research and analysis of the role nature-based solutions could play in the financial viability of low carbon energy projects. This project is looking to develop a theoretical, evidence-based report to improve understanding of how nature-based solutions and ecosystem services could: • Deliver financial benefits in the context of net zero projects • Reduce long-term climate and operational risks associated with projects • Strengthen the investment case for nature-inclusive energy or infrastructure schemes • Explore mechanisms for monetising biodiversity or ecosystem services • Generate 1-2 plausible demonstrator concepts that could be taken forward The main deliverables will include the Main report presenting the key findings of the research, an executive summary and a slide pack of the report findings. The contract for this programme will run for approximately 2 months, concluding on the 30th November 2025.
