Description:
Professional support is needed to enhance climate change impact considerations in state and regional spatial planning, including the development and testing of a climate risk analysis methodology across three planning regions.

As part of the objective process of the Climate Adaptation Strategy 2024, it has been agreed for the cluster "Urban Development, Spatial Planning, and Civil Protection" to improve the consideration of climate change impacts in the preparation and updating of state and regional spatial planning until 2028. To promote the achievement of this goal, there is a need for professional support, particularly from the holders of regional planning through a model project. In MORO, an application-oriented methodology for climate risk analysis is to be developed, and the practical application of this methodology will be tested and piloted through case studies in three planning regions using selected areas of action for climate change adaptation as examples. For each area of action examined, the climate risk analysis with integrated vulnerability and asset protection analysis will be conducted, and from these results, written and graphical provisions and action mandates will be derived, as would also be done for a regional plan.
