The object of the contract is the supply after the installation and commissioning of the Real Time Structural Health Monitoring System (RTSHMS) six (06) Technical Works – Bridges, located within the area of responsibility of the Region of Central Macedonia, as well as the proper functioning of the system for the provision, transfer and processing of data, through which the load-bearing capacity of the bridges under the operating loads will be evaluated in real time during the two-year "good operation of all systems" of the Contract.

The estimated value of the contraa shall be eight hundred years.

The purpose of the Convention is the systematic monitoring of the response of the selected bridges under the usual operating loads, the assessment of their structural vulnerability, the determination of maximum permissible limits for the passage of heavy vehicles, the assessment of possible structural health deterioration over time and the early warning of the competent bodies using state-of-the-art systems.

The operational adequacy and structural integrity of the existing bridges has been adversely affected due to the damage they have suffered mainly from the uncontrolled passage of increasing weight of vehicles, but also from their exposure to adverse weather conditions, from the corrosive flow of rivers and streams, from their stress to moderate and strong earthquakes and other exogenous factors.

In the context of this action, six (6) bridges will be organized, which will be the "control hubs" for road safety throughout the Region. The creation of a network of bridges that will be monitored and evaluated in real time with modern practices, will directly contribute to the improvement of road safety by upgrading the infrastructure sector and satisfying in practice, the central - executive role of the Region. This network will be an innovative and integrated tool with which the Region will be able to identify priorities for the best possible management of bridge construction projects and the taking of immediate measures immediately after emergencies.
