Description:
2021/078 Planning of shore power systems for seagoing ships in Bremerhaven, service phases 1-3

The client intends to create 4 medium-voltage shore power connections for seagoing ships (for container / RoRo and cruise ships) in the overseas port area in the city of Bremerhaven (state of Bremen), as well as a medium-voltage shore power connection for a research vessel in the fishing port area of the city of Bremerhaven.

The medium-voltage connections for the overseas port area are to be designed according to the ICE / IEEE 80005-1 standard as a "plug" or as a "socket", depending on the type of ship. The standard to be used for the research ship is not yet clear; 80005-1.

General description of the overall project:

0. General:

The space requirements of the special components must be agreed with the operators; neither the mooring of the ships nor the cargo handling may be hindered by the new facilities.

The 20 kV power feeds for the new converter systems (UA) are not part of the planning.

The harsh environmental conditions on the North Sea coast (tide, storm, salt water, salty air) must be observed. Necessary technical changes to the quay structure z. B. due to the masses of converter stations and mobile equipment or cable ducts to be introduced must be taken into account.

Any influences (e.g. corrosion) of the planning measures on the quay must be taken into account.

1. Shore power supply for container ships at the river quay

- the quay is to be equipped with 2 shore power connections,

- the berths are flood-proof, the tidal range of approx. 4 m must be observed,

- 2 new UA operated with 20 kV 50Hz are to be set up on the container terminal.

If necessary, the UA will be housed in a shared building.

- They should be able to supply ships with 7.5 MVA 6.6 kV (switchable) 50 Hz / 60 Hz each.

The energy is brought from the systems to the ship's berths via cables and suitable connection systems.

In order to maintain flexibility at the berths, the energy supply should be designed with more than one connection point or flexible in terms of position.

The crane runway rails run parallel to the edge of the quay, the container bridges, bollards and the like limit the available space. The wave chamber located below the quay (not flood-proof) can be used for installations.

2. Shore power supply for RoRo ships at the automobile terminal:

- a shore power connection for RoRo ships is to be built on the east bank of the northern port,

- it is located in the inland part of the port and does not depend on the tide,

- A new UA operated with 20 kV 50 Hz is to be set up on the company premises in the Nordhafen area,

- it should be able to supply a ship with 6.5 MVA 6.6 kV / 11kV (switchable) 50 Hz / 60 Hz.

The energy is brought from the UA to the ship's berth via cables and a suitable connection system. In order to maintain flexibility at the berth, the energy supply should be designed with more than one connection point or with flexible positioning.

Driving on the quay with the vehicles to be shipped, the ramps for the RoRo ships, bollards and the like must be taken into account in the planning.

3. Shore power supply for cruise ships at Columbuskaje

- A shore power connection for cruise ships is to be built at the Columbuskaje,

- the berth is not flood-proof, the tidal range of approx. 4 m must be observed,

- A UA operated with 20 kV 50 Hz is to be built on the "Columbus Island",

- It should be able to supply a ship with 16 MVA 6.6 kV / 11 kV (switchable) 50 Hz / 60 Hz.

The energy is brought from the UA to the ship's berth via cables and a suitable connection system. In order to maintain flexibility at the berth, the energy supply should be designed with more than one connection point or with flexible positioning.

The Columbuskaje will be widened over the next few years. The existing landing stages, bollards and the like limit the installation space. The quay is used as an equipment quay.

At the cruise terminal, "design aspects", such as B. the optical integration of the new systems into the existing development should be noted.

4. Shore power supply for research vessels in the fishing port:

- a shore power connection for research vessels is to be built in the fishing port in front of the Thünen Institute,

- this is located in the inland part of the port and does not depend on the tide,

- The research ship to be supplied does not yet exist, the electrical connection values are currently being planned with a medium-voltage connection.
