The project "DEEP_AI – AI-Based Solutions Enhanced by High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems for the Space Economy" is an industrial research and experimental development project funded through the Smart Growth, Digitalization, and Financial Instruments Program (PoCIDIF) 2021–2027, under Action 1.1 Support for the Private Sector and Collaboration Between Public System Actors and the Business Environment in R&D.
The DEEP_AI project proposes the development of a high-performance data center (HPC) focused on research and development. This advanced data center will specialize in training, simulating, and processing large volumes of data and complex algorithms, particularly in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). The research infrastructure will be operationalized by the project leader, the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology in Targu Mures, and utilized by private partners (PRO VALUE SRL, ASTRALIS SOLUTIONS SRL, ROPARDO SRL, STARTUP WORKSPACE SRL, AXTEN SRL), targeting five distinct use cases oriented towards applications in the space economy, monitoring and control of generative AI, and expanding its applications to social and medical sectors.
