The Digital Identity Area of ISTEC, as a qualified trust service provider with access to authentic sources of information, positions itself as an entity capable of issuing credentials in accordance with the standards defined by eIDAS2. This tender aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Issue verifiable credentials based on the available authentic sources of information. These credentials must comply with the standards and requirements of eIDAS2, thereby ensuring interoperability and cross-border recognition.
- Integrate the issuer with established infrastructures and protocols, such as using EBSI to manage trust lists and integrating with the Sovereign Wallet of Spain, facilitating interaction between various public and private services.
- Examine possible improvements and developments, such as ISTEC adopting the role of identity provider for natural persons and legal entities.
- Select the relevant credentials to be integrated as verifiable credentials in the digital identity ecosystem and develop the corresponding rule books for each of them. This approach aims to facilitate interoperability and accelerate the implementation of different use cases.
