The WISTA Management GmbH (WISTA MG) plans to renovate and expand the former US military hospital in Berlin Lichterfelde into the FUBIC Innovation Center. The incubator and technology center is intended for the accommodation of research and technology-oriented startups and compliant small and medium-sized enterprises. Offices and laboratories for chemistry, microbiology, and physics will be established. The building is a freestanding large structure measuring approximately 60m x 120m, centrally located on an approximately five-hectare development site between Fabeckstraße and Kamillenstraße, which is to be developed over the coming years into a campus with 6 additional new buildings.
LOT-0001
Construction of a 500 kVA battery system.
A battery storage system based on lithium-ion batteries with a peak output of max. 500 kVA and a usable storage capacity of max. 510 kWh is to be provided. A building at the level of the 1st underground floor is planned as the installation site for battery modules and inverters or charge controllers in the outdoor area of FUBIC. This building is equipped with supply and exhaust air and is fitted with 6 rooms. For the construction project, one room will be used as a battery storage, with two additional rooms reserved for future use (Room 1 to 3). In the future, additional 500 kVA battery power can be retrofitted in battery rooms 2 and 3. Thus, a maximum capacity of the battery rooms 1-3 of 2500 kWh is possible. The storage is to be designed for peak shaving for the electrical house connection of the building and for self-consumption optimization for the electricity from the rooftop PV system. The system control or feed management must be considered and implemented according to VDE-AR-N 4110.
