The Special Fund Port is currently installing a total of five shore power systems for seagoing vessels at the overseas port in Bremerhaven. These technical systems provide ships with electrical energy during their lay time in the harbor. This energy comes from the onshore public electricity grid. By using shore power, the ship engines and auxiliary generators can be turned off while in port.
The Special Fund Port intends to tender the electricity supply for the shore power systems mentioned below. There is currently no experience from the client regarding the quantities taken. It is assumed that the load profiles of the shore power systems will be irregular and difficult to plan.
In a forecast, the client expects 2,300,000 kWh for the supply period of 6 months.
