Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (STA), Thermogravimetry (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) with Mass Spectrometer and Humidity Generator.
Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (STA), Thermogravimetry (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) with Mass Spectrometer and Humidity Generator
Quantity: One (1) unit.
CPV: 38418000-8, 33151300-6
The simultaneous thermal analysis system (STA), consisting of thermogravimetry (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), refers to a complex arrangement (assembly) capable of simultaneous measurement of mass change and heat flow of a sample as a function of temperature or time under controlled atmosphere. Through TGA, the study of thermal stability and decomposition characteristics of materials (electrocatalysts, electrolytes, and electrode materials) will be conducted, while the DSC will provide information regarding thermal changes, such as endothermic and exothermic processes. This will allow for the determination of critical thermodynamic and kinetic parameters, essential for understanding materials behavior under operating conditions. Therefore, the simultaneous thermal analysis instrument (STA) will offer enhanced capabilities in the research of materials for electrochemical processes. Specifically, the use of the STA will contribute to the optimization of materials for CO2 electrochemical conversion reactions, simultaneous electrolysis of water and CO2, and other electrochemical processes, promoting the development of innovative, efficient, and resilient systems. The aforementioned equipment must meet at least the technical specifications as outlined in Annex I of the Announcement.

Gas Chromatography System coupled with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
Gas Chromatography System coupled with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)
Quantity: One (1) unit.
CPV: 38432200-4, 33151300-6
The GC-MS system will be utilized for the accurate assessment of the performance and selectivity of electrocatalysts, as well as the reactants of CO2 electrochemical conversion into useful products. Specifically, it will be used for analyzing the input and output streams, both in the anode and cathode of the cells, ensuring precise control of supply and determination of the produced species and mixture composition. This data allows for the calculation of selectivity and faradaic efficiency of the systems. The aforementioned equipment must meet at least the technical specifications as outlined in Annex I of the Announcement.

Rotational Rheometer.
Rotational Rheometer
Quantity: One (1) unit.
CPV: 38425200-2
The rotational rheometer is a fundamental tool for studying the rheological properties of materials, providing valuable information regarding their behavior under different shear or stress and temperature conditions. The rheometer will be used to evaluate the viscosity and rheological response of solutions or pastes of electrocatalysts used for the development of electrodes and electrolyte-electrode devices, through coating or spraying techniques. The rheometer will also allow us to adequately simulate a flow process, such as that occurring during the spraying of a solution, while determining the effect of adding different quantities of catalyst/solvent/additives in the coating or spraying process. Therefore, the instrument will contribute to achieving optimal structure, uniformity, and high quality of coatings and thus optimizing the composition and production of electrodes and devices. The aforementioned equipment must meet at least the technical specifications as outlined in Annex I of the Announcement.

Controlled Condition Chamber, Glove Box.
Controlled Condition Chamber, Glove Box
Quantity: One (1) unit.
CPV: 38000000-5
The glove box chamber is specialized laboratory equipment, which is used for the safe handling of materials in a controlled, inert atmosphere. In the research of new materials, the utility of the glove box is significant, as it allows for working with materials that are sensitive to air, moisture, or other environmental conditions. Specifically, many chemicals, such as precursor chemical compounds or materials used in the composition of electrocatalysts, can decompose or oxidize quickly upon exposure to oxygen and humidity. The glove box will provide the required protection by creating a closed, inert environment with well-defined conditions, consisting of an argon atmosphere, to avoid such unwanted reactions. Furthermore, the use of the glove box will ensure the precise handling of materials for their subsequent use in the fabrication of devices (for example, electrodes or MEAs) under strictly defined conditions, enabling the execution of complex formations, thus ensuring the quality and reliability of these methods. The aforementioned equipment must meet at least the technical specifications as outlined in Annex I of the Announcement.

Upgrade of X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy System for Near Ambient Pressure Operation (Near Ambient Pressure NAP XPS).
Upgrade of X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy System for Near Ambient Pressure Operation (Near Ambient Pressure NAP XPS)
Quantity: One (1) unit.
CPV: 33114000-2
Within the laboratory infrastructure of IDEP is installed the only advanced X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy system in Greece, by SPECS Group, SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH, which allows the execution of XPS and UPS measurements over a very wide pressure range, from ultra-high vacuum (UHV, 1x10-9 mbar) to very close to atmospheric pressure (30mbar, or higher), NAP-XPS. This system is the most advanced technique for characterizing the surfaces of numerous materials under real operating conditions (operando). For conducting operando measurements, the NAP-XPS system has the capability to supply 5 different gases (e.g., Ar, N2, O2, H2, COx, NH3, NOx, H2S, and H2O) and heat samples with a laser up to 1000°C. The upgrade involves enhancing the manipulator with 4 electrical contacts for conducting electrochemical measurements under real operating conditions (gas phase, heating and polarization). The modification pertains to the addition of 4 electrical contact and signal transmission positions, corresponding to the necessary electrical connections for a standard three-electrode electrochemical setup (Working, Counter, Reference) as well as a sense electrode for conducting experiments on electrochemical processes at electrode-electrolyte interfaces in dynamic and static operation with simultaneous NAP-XPS measurement. The aforementioned equipment must meet at least the technical specifications as outlined in Annex I of the Announcement.
