On 11th August 2026, the municipal enterprise published a contract notice seeking provision of low-floor electric buses together with battery charging infrastructure, spare parts, maintenance tools and related services. The short summary released so far offers no indication of the number or length of buses, the charging concept or the duration of support, but it sets a clear direction on scope.
By bringing vehicles, charging equipment and maintenance support into a single contract, the buyer appears to be looking for one partner to take responsibility for both delivery and day-to-day operability of the new fleet. While the Zaporizhzhia notice does not yet spell out performance metrics, its focus on low-floor vehicles places passenger comfort and inclusive access alongside electrification goals. The detailed requirements will only become clear when full tender documents are available, but accessibility is clearly built into the headline ask.

Taken together, these notices show authorities favouring turnkey packages that cover vehicles, charging infrastructure, maintenance capacity and skills transfer in a single buying exercise. Zaporizhelektrotrans’s decision to include charging infrastructure, spare parts, maintenance tools and related services in one contract places its tender firmly in this camp.
The size of the electric bus fleets being procured this year varies widely, but the underlying objectives are remarkably consistent. At the other, several of the multi-vehicle tenders noted above involve fleets of around 20 buses supported by extensive charging and maintenance provisions.
Mid-sized procurements add further depth to the picture. Stadtwerke Pirmasens Verkehrs-GmbH is planning to enhance climate-friendly transportation with six battery-electric low-floor city buses, with funding covering a significant portion of expenses, according to its May 2026 Electric Bus Procurement. ОБЩИНА МОНТАНА’s June 2026 Electric Buses and Charging Stations notice covers delivery and installation of new electric buses and charging stations in two lots, including low-floor buses of varying lengths and corresponding charging infrastructure.
Some authorities are using options and lot structures to manage uncertainty and market capacity. In March 2026 Miejski Zakład Komunikacji w Toruniu spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością published an Electric Bus Procurement for one new low-floor electric bus of the MAXI class, with an option to purchase up to 15 additional buses.
