The Smart Pedestrian Crossing System will detect pedestrians intending to cross the crossing through a smart sensor system. An additional 10 upgraded crossings for use by people with disabilities will be installed as an extension of the ACTION Smart pedestrian crossings and accessible for people with disabilities Act "SPECIALIZED ACTIONS AND APPLICATION OF SMART TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF NEA IONIA" which is included in the Development and Solidarity Program for Local Government "ANTONIS TRITSIS" Invitation AT08 "Digital services of the Municipality of Nea Ionia."

The system will enable the Municipality to conduct consultations with citizens via the internet. Citizens, through authentication, can comment, engage with the municipal authority, propose, and respond to questionnaires on issues related to the Municipality.
