Description:
Expansion of an electric bus depot in Cologne-Porz includes the delivery and installation of low-voltage switchgear and DC charging infrastructure for 139 electric bus parking spaces, ensuring safe and reliable energy distribution and charging.

The Cologne Transport Company AG (hereinafter referred to as KVB) is planning the expansion of an electric bus depot (KVB Porz) on an approximately 63,000 m2 former industrial site at Kaiserstraße 127 in Cologne-Porz. The subject of the award is the delivery, assembly, electrical connection, commissioning, and complete acceptance documentation of low-voltage switchgear and a DC charging infrastructure for electric buses to expand the existing Porz depot on newly opened operating areas. A total of 139 parking spaces for electric buses will be created on the expansion area. All parking spaces will be provided with steel construction cross beams and will be supplied via charging canopies with the decentralized charging units. The charging units will be located within site-provided structures in a central block between the parking spaces. The cable path to the parking spaces will be provided on-site through underground laid empty conduit systems. The goal is to establish a powerful, safe, and operationally reliable energy distribution and charging system for the controlled charging of the electric bus fleet. The scope of services includes in particular the construction of the low-voltage main distributions, the establishment of the required supply lines and pathways (interior/exterior), as well as the connection of the charging infrastructure on the newly developed areas via protective pipes and cable trays within the cross beams. Also included are all ancillary services necessary for proper execution (e.g. cable support systems, labeling/signage, fire protection seals). The charging infrastructure is to be designed to ensure safe and permanently available operation. This includes the integration and expansion of an existing load and charging management system as well as the establishment of the necessary communication and control connections. Through remote access to the charging devices, the contractor ensures optimal availability and can quickly rectify disturbances and failures as part of the maintenance contract being offered. The scope of services includes, among other things: - Delivery and installation of 10 low-voltage main distributions for distributing transformer capacities to the charging devices, including cable installation - Delivery and connection of a total of 135 DC charging points with decentralized parking spaces and a charging current of 200 A - Delivery and connection of a total of 4 DC charging points with decentralized parking spaces and a charging current of 600 A - Raised floor installation and the installation of all cable paths - Ready-for-operation construction, commissioning, and handover of the installations - Training of operating personnel after commissioning - Maintenance contract for 5 years Furthermore, the supplied system technology is to be integrated into the existing control system based on Profinet. Implementation period Estimated start of implementation: 09/2026 to 11/2026 Estimated completion: 04/2027 to 06/2027 The binding execution times will be communicated to you after the completion of the participation competition and with the dispatch of the contract documents.
