(Storage tank + peripherals (cushion steam system, initial shut-off, drainage/ventilation, measuring technology + insulation + stair tower +) Gothaer Stadtwerke ENERGIE GmbH intends to construct an atmospheric large-scale thermal storage system to optimize the operation of the CHP systems at the power plant site HKW Gotha West. The thermal storage has a capacity of 60 MWh, a volume of approximately 2,600 m3, resulting in a diameter of approximately 13m and a maximum height of about 23m. The large thermal storage and the peripheral facilities will be built on a newly acquired property. The construction phase is planned from March 2026 to August 2027. The necessary services will be procured in 6 lots: Lot 1 - Civil engineering, Lot 2 - Pile foundation, Lot 3 - Foundation work, Lot 4 - Thermal storage, Lot 5 - Piping/plant construction, and Lot 6 - ELT and E-MSR. This lot includes the thermal storage.
