MATURITY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DECARBONIZATION FUND PROJECTS - 1.
Priorities I and II focus on enhancing energy autonomy in the islands through the utilization of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and storage systems. This includes the installation of photovoltaic systems combined with batteries to meet final consumption needs, as well as the development of RES stations with investment support. Furthermore, enhancement for the installation of hybrid systems that combine different forms of RES is foreseen, as well as the placement of autonomous energy storage systems for greater flexibility and supply security.

MATURITY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF DECARBONIZATION FUND PROJECTS - 2.
Priorities I and II include the development of offshore wind farms and the interconnection of the islands with the mainland network, as well as the construction of dams and multipurpose reservoirs to enhance energy and hydrological security. The implementation of submarine and terrestrial electrical interconnections in island clusters such as the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and the Northern Aegean is foreseen, in successive phases. The actions also include infrastructure for supplying power to berthed ships from the shore ('cold ironing') and the development of a network of electric vehicle charging stations to support the green transition in transportation.

MATURITY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MODERNIZATION FUND PROJECTS.
The actions include the replacement of urban buses with electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, the energy upgrade of public buildings and greenhouses using RES, as well as the improvement of energy efficiency in military facilities. The modernization of the electrical grid with smart infrastructure for the integration of RES is also foreseen.
